| Direct Payment |
|
Direct Payment is an efficient electronic payment alternative to paper checks. When you use direct payment, you authorize a company to electronically collect a preauthorized amount from your checking or savings account to pay a bill or donation/pledge. So instead of writing a check every month, your credit union will automatically make the payment on a predetermined date for you. It's that simple.
Save time preparing payments, save money on postage and check fees, improve your budgeting, eliminate the chance of a late payment, and save time balancing your monthly credit union account statement.
There is no fee from the credit union to have your account charged with a Direct Payment. Some merchant and service companies, however, will reward your use of Direct Payment by reducing your monthly charges or bill. A good example is our business partner, Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, that deducts 5% of the monthly premium to participating members who pay by Direct Payment from their credit union account.
