For the times you make purchases that require "certified funds", your credit union offers Money Orders and Cashier's Checks. Considered as negotiable as cash, Money Orders can be purchased by members for any amount up to $500 while Cashier's Checks can be purchased for any amount without limit.

At the time of purchase, a Money Order's "payee" does not have to be completed, but a Cashier's Check "payee" does. An unused or lost Money Order may be cancelled, replaced, or refunded if necessary if requested in a timely manner and after paying the appropriate fee. A Cashier's Check cannot normally be cancelled (stop pay), replaced, or refunded.

Money Order's may be purchased for the requested amount plus a $3 fee. Cashier's Checks may be purchased for the requested amount plus a $3 fee.
